L.A.’s Los Angeles united Will Baum (Love Child, 9-Iron), Dave Baker (Knee Jerk Reaction, Sissy’s Progress), and drummer Damon Huss (Blue Garden Blue, Sissy’s Progress); garage-rock hijinks ensued.
On the band’s only record, the self-titled Los Angeles, offerings veer from driven power-pop confections (“Debbie, I’m Sorry,” “Cookie Dough”), affectionate reimaginings of a classic or two (“Runnin’ with the Devil,” “PSRT”), and paint-a-picture story songs (“Hey, You Could Be on Television,” “Stand-Up Comic”).
