Have been doing a lot of surfing around to see how different sites handle time + place + music. The Nostalgia Machine came up, naturally enough. Pick a year, the site spits out a page of top-of-the-pops videos. 2013 gets you Macklemore, 1993 gets you Whitney Houston, 1973 gets you Tony Orlando and Dawn. And since they’re videos, you get hairdos and mustaches and the waxing and waning of gold lamé–the very stuff that stirs wistful, cringing happy-sadness, aka nostalgia. Have a go.
